Description: A thin iron oxidation layer provides a rainbow play of color on the surface of this nearly 4" wide plate of iridescent limonite from Bisbee. The Lavender Pit was the beginning of large scale open pit mining operations in Bisbee started during the mid 1950's. Old Minerals Unlimited label included.
